I'm not sure if anyone has done anything like this before, but I was

looking around online the other day and started to send e-mails to

baby clothing makers to implore them to please start making all of

their clothing with snaps down both legs, and to offer options with

the snaps and no footies. And to make more socks with grips on the

bottoms.

I've contacted several manufacturers already, but was curious if

anyone else has done anything like this. I work for a Marketing firm

and I know firsthand that customer feedback can have a great impact,

especially in a specialty market.

I also ask to speak with managers at the clothing stores like the Gap

and Old Navy. It works quite well when Aleksander is with me....he

smiles at everyone right now and charms their socks off!

When I spoke to someone at the Gap, they said that they had just

completed a study amongst parents (general population so I'm sure

clubfoot wasn't an issue for them), and they requested the snaps as

well. I've noticed now that most of the pants at the Gap have

snaps.

I just wanted to encourage everyone, when you are on a site for a

manufacturer, take a minute to locate their " contact us " section and

send off a quick e-mail. If you are interested in doing this and

would like a copy of the e-mails I've been sending, I'd be happy to

forward it on so you can save a minute or two.

Most places respond back, saying thanks for the feedback...which

doesn't amount to much. But at least I feel like I'm doing something

instead of just complaining about how difficult it is to find

reasonably priced clothing that fits our needs. Of course, by the

time they start making the stuff, I won't need it, but at least

another parent will benefit.

, this is a great idea! Although we're past the stage of

needing the snaps, it would be a great benefit for other parents.

I'd love to see your emails to give me an idea of what to write. You

can email me directly at daiga.grady @ ns.sympatico.ca (without the

space).
