Guest guest
Sue, I am having the same problem. The hormone thing may be a factor as I feel exactly as I did when I was pregnant (like I am on a moving ship all day). I also find that eating alleviates the symptoms for very very short periods (as it did when I was pregnant). Because of that and my limited stomach capacity I eat small meals about 5 or 6x per day. That is pretty scary since I gained 70pds when I was pregnant by constantly grazing (although I realize the quantity and malabsorption will not allow that now...the mindset is there). Only Tums gives me substantial relief and even that is for 30-40 minutes at most. If I were to let myself I would intake entirely too many Tums all day but I try not to. I drink ginger tea & peppermint tea but that only helps for short periods as well. I am pretty miserable about it but am just trying to deal in the hopes it subsides. I wish I wasn't going back to work on Monday with this queasy feeling hanging over me as it really sucks the little energy I have right out of me. It also contributes considerably to my moodiness since it is hard to be pleasant when you are walking around with somewhat of a " base " nausea all day. If you find anything that helps not already mentioned let me know. You can find me hanging on to the rail leaning over the side of the boat :*{ Sondra Open BPD/DS w/Dr. Herron 6/18/01 -27 lbs as of 6/28/01 > I had my surgery 6/18/01- had a horrible week when I came home with gas and nausea- Your suggestions helped but I still suffer from nausea on and off throughout the day but I wake up every morning feeling awful- very nauseous and eventhough I try to eat something right away it lasts for hours- it takes all my effort not to gag and throw up- I'm still trying to drink as much as I can but I know I'm not getting in quite as much as I should- I do keep trying though - any suggestions? > > Sue- > " going down " permanently > starting bmi 53 > post-op bpd/ds w/ Dr Gagner > 6/18/01 > Mt Sinai- 6.18.

Guest guest
When I was pregnant my perinatologist told me to try Unisom - I think that's what it's called. Anyway, it's an OTC drug that aids sleep normally, but has the side effect of settling the stomach. It really works. Both with the nausea - and the sleep. Ask your doctor before trying it tho... Dina in Aloha, OR Age 37/BMI 61 Waiting for my consult with Dr. Hoping my new insurance will cover it all.... Re: Is anyone having this problem? Yes I am Sue, I am having the same problem.
