Guest guest
I just wanted to say that the evaluation was done on Christian yesterday. I am very happy that I called for this to be done. If anyone has any question about their children I highly recommend them call Early Intervention. They explained to me that they would be establishing their report by Christian's corrected age of 15 months instead of 16 because of his early birth. Also, he does seem to experience a delay in speech but she said it is obvious that he is making an effort to try and imitate which can most definitely be blamed on 3 months of continuous fluid in his ear. They also said that he seems to have a problem with his fine motor skills that needs to be worked on. Otherwise, every other skill was that of an 18 month old. They also confirmed that there is absolutely nothing else wrong with him and that he would catch up very quickly once he started with the speech and therapy sessions. I am so relieved now that this is over with and that the primary reason for his inability to make some sounds was the very unfortunate and valuable time lost when we all sounded like we were mumbling to him for 3 months. Thank you for listening and helping me out with all of the questions I had about EI. Guest guest
Thank you Louisa. I am glad I got this done early. Re: off topic: EI again Hi , I have missed the past few months, I am so glad to hear Christian's testing went well. I have quite a few neighbors who started with EI around 2-3 for their children's speech. Great program!! Guest guest
Congratulations on the good evaluation! I bet that was a relief for you to hear! I bet Christian is talking up a storm in no time at all!! About those fine motor skills, my oldest was found to have poor fine motor skills at a very young age, but he's 8 now and doing just fine!!
