I am sure I'll get flamed up the Kazoo for this, but I think this is an

inappropriate request for this or any other support forum. For starters

there is no way for any of us can check out the veracity of this request.

Secondly, there are many needy members on these list who require funds for a

variety of reasons from the " no way, no pay insurance company " to the I

can't afford the plane fare " . This is a informational and sharing support

group. It is not a forum to solicit funds. Who is to say which persons

plight is more needy than another's.

If this unfortunate patient has been harmed by a doctor then she needs to

seek legal advice and contact the state medical association.

The surgery she had is not DS surgery, in fact if you go to Dr. Rutledge's

website he pans DS surgery, so there is no relation between the two types of

surgeries except they are both a type of WLS.

Again this is not a place to pass the hat. We are opening Pandora's Box.

I too am super uncomfortable with this. While I can empathize with the sentiment, I'm put off by being solicited this way. I was actually angry when I first read the message, because it occurs for me as unsolicited spam. I agree with Kathie on this one. I hope the moderators filter this stuff before it even comes through next time.
