Hi Marilouise,

It's good to hear that is doing well!

We won't be back at Dr. Herzenberg's until August. I am sorry we are going

to miss you!

Dr. Herzenberg on Friday?

Hi all,

Yes, it's been FOREVER since I posted last. I jump in here about once

a week but simply can't find the time to keep up with the posts :( I

miss the daily conversations -- I keep trying to do more than read but

I can't even read all the posts.

Anyway, is doing very well! She is 21 months, walking pretty

well, talking up a STORM, and making us laugh all day :) We are

seeing Dr. Herzenberg on Friday (6/17) and was wondering if anyone

will be there? Our appointment is at 10:30a.

BTW, Congratulations to all the mommies and new babies I've been

reading about!!

Marilouise,

I can't believe that the eye doctor said that and walked out of the room!!!!

What the hell is wrong with these people??? Well, hopefully this new doctor

will be much better.

How are your twins?

Re: Dr. Herzenberg on Friday?

Thanks ! I am hoping that maybe I can get back in here! I have

one concern with that I am going to discuss with Dr. H. Her

right foot (non-clubfoot) seems to be rolling inward. MY DH sees it

now too so I want to ask about it.

We will now be traveling to Sinai to see an opthomologist at the

Kennedy Krieger Eye Institute, so I will be back up there in August

too but I can't remember when -- LOL! 's left eye (and

actually sometimes her right one too!) is floating outward. Spent a

good sum of money on an eye doc here only to find out at the end of

her second appt that they were examining her for crossed eyes!! I

must have told them 5-6 times that her eye was floating OUT, not in.

UGGGHHH! So the doc says " Oh, I can't treat her for that. You'll

have to see a pediatric opthomologist. " And she leaves the room.

Nice, huh?

And so I ramble...

Saw the pics of recently -- she's getting so big!

Hi Joanne,

I am glad to hear that Zoe's foot is fine!

When the children are released from the shoes, how many years do they need

to return to the doctor for their feet to be followed?

Dr. Herzenberg on Friday?

Marilouise,

That is great that is so smart but I think you are very wise in not

letting her jump too far ahead of her brother. Owen will never ever hear

the end of it from . As far as behavioral issues go with Owen....I

truly believe that it is a boy thing! wasn't' doing so well in

Kindergarten and I was concerned for awhile but in March he turned it all

around. It was like a light wensda 1

Re: Dr. Herzenberg on Friday?

Hi ,

Isn't it sad? I want to trust that these doctors know their stuff

and I keep being proven wrong -- VERY wrong! I am so thankful this

group steered me towards Dr H for 's foot :) Now I am taking

advice from two good friends of mine who also drove from my area to

this eye doctor at Sinai. Here's hoping for as good of results as

Dr H!!

Owen and are doing well (although fighting at my feet at the

moment!). They finished up Kindergarten on June 9th. They both had

great " report cards " . We have a new challenge with ...she is 6

years 3 months, just finished Kindergarten and tested at just barely

below a third grade reading level!! Next year she will likely jump

up to second grade for reading. I don't want her moved up a whole

grade. That would just cause all sorts of twin-rearing issues!

Owen continues to be my behavior issue unfortunately. We are trying

a new thing with him but we've only being doing it for a couple days

so it hasn't sank in yet. My DH finished with his students today so

he's off for the summer. Having him here will hopefully help get

Owen on a better track.

On a positive note with Owen, my DH has started giving him guitar

lessons and he is picking things up SO fast! He seems to have the

music thing in him genetically. He spends hours listening to his

Daddy's CDs (the ones my DH released himself) and keeps asking when

he can learn to play like Daddy :)

How's your crew?

Hi marilouise and other herzenberg patients,

I know what you mean about trying to keep up with the messages! It's been

awhile since I've posted as well...

Zoe is now 4 1/4. Somehow time got away from us and she just had her first

checkup last Friday since getting out of the brace a year ago! I know, bad

mom. Her dad took her because I was out of town. Dr. Herzenberg had told us

what to look for if her foot were starting to relapse, and I check her foot

daily while she's walking, and it always looks the same to me.

Well, her foot is just fine and we don't have to go back until next year.

Zoe did have a mild case and was one of the 15% who don't need a tenotomy,

so I would be surprised if she were to relapse, but you never know...

Dr. Herzenberg quoted Dr. Ponseti's info. that if there was no relapse by

age 6, we should be " home free " .

For more about our story, check out:

Subject: Dr.
