Guest guest
Went in today because Aidan pulled his foot back in his right cast. When they took the cast off I was surprised at how bad his foot looked (sores, swollen etc. . ). He's been pretty happy all afternoon since they put the new cast on. While we were there the Dr. mentioned that he figured Aidan would need a second tenotomy on that foot because the heel cord tightened up again. I am so discouraged. I was hoping we woud be in the the DBB by the time I returned to work. Isn't going to happen. I have this sneaking feeling he is going to end up needing surgery at least on one of his feet. His right foot is extremely stubborn. I am sorry I am just venting but I think I have finally hit my low day. At least, so far.

Guest guest
Just saw this while looking for info. I don't know what the general feeling on the board is about this, but some doctors are foregoing the tenotomy altogether and opting for botox treatment. it's a series of shots that they give to loosen the heel cords. They've been very successful with it, and it takes the place of any surgery. We've had one botox treatment on both legs and it was successful to the point of relaxing his plantar reflex. But because of all the scar tissue and just plain abnormality of his case, it did nothing for his heels. But in a more typical or even more atypical case, I would think it would be very effective. Just a thought. > Went in today because Aidan pulled his foot back in his right cast. > When they took the cast off I was surprised at how bad his foot looked > (sores, swollen etc. . ).
