My name is Kim, My daughter Saylah was born on March 5, 2005. She

has

bilateral clubfeet. At 9 days old she got her 1st cast and one

new one a

week for 6 weeks. She is now using the DBB. We are having some

difficulty

with this device. I think her left foot is not fully corrected

and the shoe

is slipping off. Our Dr. at columbus ohio Children's hospital is

using the

traditional method to treat her feet. After some research we are

looking in

to taking her to a Dr at Cincinnati children's hospital. Has any

one had

any experience with this hospital? The Dr we are seeing is Dr.

Diane

Vonstein. I wonder if we will have to start over with casting?

Any info

that anyone has about this doc would be helpful.

Thanks, Kim

Kim, I know that there are a few parents here whose children are

being treated by Dr. VonStein. Hang in there, I'm sure that they

will post as soon as they see your message.

In the meantime, there is a 'tips' sheet located in the files section

here for using the FAB (DBB). You can find it by clicking on the

files link at the left of this page and then scrolling down (near the

bottom) to the file called " FAB.doc " .

Hope this helps,

Kim,

We live in Ohio but don't have any experience with Dr. VonStein. We

took Rachael to Iowa to be treated. When we started her castings

last March there were no doctors on Dr. Ponseti's list from Ohio. I

think that there are two now - Dr. VonStein and Dr. Armstrong? in

Cleveland. I know of at least one parent on this list that takes her

daughter to Dr. VonStein. Hopefully she can help answer any of your

questions and make you feel more comfortable. Where in Ohio are you?

We are in Findlay. Best of Luck to you and your daughter.

I just replied to your post on the clubfoot board but

I think your daughter is in great hands with Dr. Von

Stein. I went in to more detail in the other post but

feel free to email me privately anytime. ALso, if you

would like to talk about it in person to see Kelsey's

foot or on the phone anytime, just email me and let me

know. We are in Dayton so we are not very far away.

Welcome Kim! I've heard great things about Dr. Vonstein. I think you

will be happy with her. Can I ask what you mean by traditional method? Do

you mean Ponseti? If the foot isn't fully corrected, more than likely she

will have to start over with casting. It is better to have discovered

that early on, rather than later. Let us know how your appointment goes.
