Transverse Incisions

Did anyone have (or request) a transverse incision (across instead of

up and down). Can you share some details about that?

I have read that a transverse incision is less painful and that a

midline incision can restrict pulmonary function. (My info comes

from www.residentnet.com/private/clinic2.htm )

In my case there will be the repair of a hiatal hernia and that may

force the choice to midline.

LAP is not available from my doc and my consult is not until

September.

Any information greatly appreciated. Thanks.
