Guest guest
In response to feedback from parents and doctors. Markell is now making a version of their open toe boots with. a cut out in the heel. The boot is also slightly higher at the back and nicely padded. The new model 1645 is only made in the smallest sizes from 0000 up to size 1 , and also in 3 widths, Narrow, Medium, and Wide. The idea is to help those babies who have difficulty transitioning into the DBB after they first come out of casts. The new model also seems to work well on some babies with atypical feet. I will be sending a new Markell Brochure(pdf file) covering all the shoes and the various DB Bars. I hope this is of help to people, and will keep on listening, and keep on monitoring questions and problems. Jay Markell

Guest guest
Jay, thanks for letting us know. I will be forwarding this message to our doctor's office and the orthotist so that they are aware that these are available. Guest guest
Jay, Thanks for the info. just wanted to let you know that we are 'happy customers' of the Markells. My daughter Claire is almost 5, and has been in the shoes since 6 months old, with no trouble at all, from day one. She has been in size 1, 3, 5, 7 and now size 8 N, and won't need anything larger; since we have the giant milestone of ending brace wear very soon.. thanks, and Claire 6/29/00 treated by Dr. Ponseti > > > > In response to feedback from parents and doctors. > > > > I hope this is of help to people, and will keep on listening, and keep > > on monitoring questions and problems. > > > > Jay Markell
