Guest guest Posted July 13, 2001 Report Share Posted July 13, 2001 joann the upper gi is a totally different thing. you just have to swallow a pasty white liquid that shows up on an xray. kind of paints your stomach and intestines so they can see them. i knew when they were putting the tube down my throat but i must have dozed some during. i remember them saying they were almost done, after gagging several times pretty hard. then i think i konked out a bit as they took it out. things are pretty fuzzy about the time right after and wheeling me to recovery. next i remember was them telling me to turn over on my back from my side. only thing left today of the experience is the feeling of a bruised throat. probably from trying to hurl with scope in the throat. i'll post just as soon as i get a firm surgery date. looks like it may be july 23 or so. woohoo! just around the corner. hugs, mary y st.louis itchin to be switchin > > i had my upper endo done thurs. at 2 pm. it took > > them two tries > > again to get my IV going.
