the upper gi is a totally different thing. you just have to swallow

a pasty white liquid that shows up on an xray. kind of paints your

stomach and intestines so they can see them.

i knew when they were putting the tube down my throat but i must have

dozed some during. i remember them saying they were almost done,

after gagging several times pretty hard. then i think i konked out a

bit as they took it out. things are pretty fuzzy about the time

right after and wheeling me to recovery. next i remember was them

telling me to turn over on my back from my side.

only thing left today of the experience is the feeling of a bruised

throat. probably from trying to hurl with scope in the throat.

i'll post just as soon as i get a firm surgery date. looks like it

may be july 23 or so. woohoo! just around the corner.

mary,

i had all my pre-op tests yesterday - i go see the

doctor tomorrow, hopefully for clearance!! you were

right about the test - that pasty stuff is AWFUL but

luckily i didn't have to drink too much. i'm hoping

my prelimary date of 7/30 will be viable! now that

i've had all the tests i'm ready to go. if you'll keep

me posted about your date, i would love to come visit

you!
