Guest guest
Hi Larry, Congratulations on your soon to be new arrival! We also live in North Jersey (Bergen County) but I go to Baltimore to see Dr. Herzenberg. I know that there are some people on here that see Dr. Scher (I believe) in New York City. Unfortunately, there are no Ponseti " Certified " doctors in the area. Keep us posted. Good Luck Mommy to (12-17-98) and Christian (1/30/04) LCF - DBB (nights only) 21 week ultrasound shows fetus with clubfoot -- need doctor info My wife is 22 weeks pregnant and the ultrasound showed that the baby has a clubfoot. The ultrasound showed no other abnormalities. We live in Northern New Jersey, and have begun to search for a pediatric orthopedist, as I begin my research into clubfoot treatment. We would prefer to see some one locally in the NY, NJ, CT area, but would travel anywhere in the U.S, should it be necessary. Any recommendations? Thanks. Larry. Guest guest
Larry, Glad to see you found this group. I'm a fairly new user and have learned a ton from this site. My wife gave birth to a handsome little boy on May 24th with a club foot. We are undergoing the Ponsetti treatment and are on our 3rd cast (4th tomorrow). Here is a link to the Ponsetti website. You can learn all about the Ponsetti method here as well as locate approved Doctors: http://www.vh.org/pediatric/patient/orthopaedics/clubfeet/index.html Here is a link to the " Qualified Physicians " part of the site: http://www.vh.org/pediatric/patient/orthopaedics/clubfeet/physicians.html There are plenty of " qualified " physicians in New York City and a couple in land. Good luck and be sure to ask any questions you have. -BJ > My wife is 22 weeks pregnant and the ultrasound showed that the baby > has a clubfoot. The ultrasound showed no other abnormalities. Guest guest
Hi Larry, Welcome to the clubfoot board... My son, , who is turning 1 year old this week, was born with bilateral clubfeet. We live in Kenilworth, NJ. We wanted treated with the Ponseti method, as it is a non-surgical method, and there were no Ponseti trained doctors in NJ this time last year. I am not sure if anyone is practicing the method here yet. We travelled to a doctor in NY. I am thrilled with the results, as his feet are beautiful now. I know this can be a scary time for you, so if I can do anything for you, I will be very happy to do so. If you would like to get together to hear first hand what the treatment is like, and to meet and see his gorgeous feet, just let me know. I know what it is like to be in your shoes. Best of luck, com> wrote: My wife is 22 weeks pregnant and the ultrasound showed that the baby has a clubfoot. The ultrasound showed no other abnormalities.
