Guest guest
I know I haven't had a chance to respond to all of the e-mails of encouragement and support I've received, but I want to say you guys are all incredible! I've only been on the list a few days and already I've had quite a few personal e-mails from people, phone numbers sent to me, etc. I'm just amazed at how informative and open hearted you all are. I'm so glad to have found this group! It's funny because we're near the end of our corrective phase and just starting our maintenance phase and I thought this would be the easy part, but it's proven much more difficult than I expected. I found you guys at just the right time. There is truly a reason for everything! Oh, and for those who e-mailed me with different questions: Her shoes are the more recent Markells, I believe, shorter strap (about 3 inches left after tightening), no heel seam on the inside and factory padded tounge. She's adjusting better to them though. I did go back to the orthotic place yesterday and they confirmed that I was putting them on right and they fit right. Her dr.'s nurse called me and he said the purple in her leg was nothing to worry about as long as her leg stays warm, or at least as warm as the other leg. If it gets cold then it's an issue and to call them asap. She did sleep last night on her side, kind of, thanks to the suggestions given here and a little creativity on my part. Nursing laying down is a bit challenging since she can't totally lay on her side yet (I haven't totally gotten the side thing down pat), but we managed. She did wake up frequently last night, but more like every 2 hours rather than every 15 minutes. She was only waking up once during the night before the FAB so I have high hopes we'll get there again soon. The older kiddos are adjusting and cooperating with their baby sis's new needs, since she is a bit clingier than before, but she was more content yesterday and was even babbling and cooing and didn't scream when I put her shoes on after her bath, so I think she's adjusting. I e-mailed Dr. Ponseti for his opinion on her foot so we'll see what he says, still waiting to hear back. Thanks again for all your support!
