Guest guest
I was not sure if Jolanta had posted this information about the expansion of the Ponseti method in Lithuania that she had sent to me earlier in the week. It includes their Lithuanian Ponseti method website that has translation into English and Russian. The following is her message. We had a very good Ponseti follow-up seminar last weekend. It took place in Kaunas the second biggest town in Lithuania. The local doctors who had been practicing Ponseti since 2003 -2004 and who had participated in the Ponseti seminar last July were able to compare it with Kite's method and show Dr.Sinclair their results. The seminar was with real patients and Dr. Sinclair made a brief Ponseti method presentation for newcomers. We have been presented with the greatest news the there haven't been any clubfoot surgeries since the method was started to use at the biggest orthopedic clinic in Kaunas. There was also a visiting orthopedic technician form Hamburg who demonstrated the most recent FAB brace and new shoes. You can see them at http://www.semeda.de. The FAB shoes are covered by the insurance here and we have no problem with that because there are two ortho factories which produce them or import them. The aim is that we had the most comfortable shoes and good bars, so there have been talks about the production of better shoes and braces in Lithuania. The most important idea which came up during the seminar was the organization of Ponseti Baltic seminar for Lithuanians Latvians and Estonians next summer since we have established some contacts in Estonia too. And finally, we have our website which can be found at http://www.sleivapedyste.projektas.lt/ It still nededs some polishing and corrections. I'll try to put the photos and inforamtion from the last seminar. The lithuanian google finds it very quickly. I still have a problem with the russian keywords - google doesn't direct to the website after I enter " clubfoot " in Russiian. This is quite bad because the aim of this website is also to infor Russian parents and interested doctors. My biggest aim and ambition is to bring Ponseti to Russia and Ukraine and to build up the treatment awareness. Best regards Jolanta

Guest guest
In looking at the Global HELP website recently, I noticed that Jolanta Kavaliauskiene (a Ponseti method parent from Lithuania) provided the Russian language translation of the 32 page Ponseti method booklet. It can be seen at http://www.global- help.org/publications/cf-russian.pdf The English Language version of the booklet (and Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish versions) can be found at http://www.global- help.org/publications/ponseti-cf.html They are also working on publications into Hindi, Arabic and other languages. > I was not sure if Jolanta had posted this information about the > expansion of the Ponseti method in Lithuania that she had sent to me > earlier in the week.
