Guest guest
Don't know if anyone out there can help our son has been having the ponsetti treatment since 1 week old and after 12 sets of casts they decided they weren't really getting anymore improvement and that they would go ahead with a tenotomy. (The treatment is really new at our hospital so they are also learning as things progress.) He had his tenotomy 2 1/2 weeks ago and today I expected him to go into boots and bars. However we got to Physio to find out that they can't get his foot to 90 degrees and the abduction isn't enough so he's gone back in plaster. They also couldn't give me any guarantees that this would help improve the position of his foot further so he could go into boots and bars in the near future. I'm now feeling rather worried that they are going to start looking at surgical correction methods and wondered if there was anyone out there who had a similar problem and what happened. I feel that it would really help me to know that there might be light at the end of the tunnel without having to go down a surgical route and being informed helps me feel more ready to challenge the doctors and their suggestions.
