Guest guest
Hello I was just wondering if anyone knows where you can find padding that goes along the bar of the DBB? I think someone in this group makes them??? Does anyone know what I am talking about? Those shoes are like a weapon... Avery clobbered her older sister with them this morning and I thought at one point that someone had mentioned that they either make them or that you can buy the pattern...Avery and Delaney just turned one a couple of days ago and they are both very mobile and I think we are going to need to protect everyone from getting clobbered!!! If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.... Avery is actually doing very good in her shoes .... THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU that encouraged me to start over with the Ponsetti method... I cannot believe that we are already through with the casting and tenotomy and into the shoes.. it is amazing ... I couldn't be happier that we didn't do surgery .. and when I think of how close we were to doing it, it really upsets me to think that we thought that was our only option... I owe it all to you guys on this support group.. I just happened to stumble across it and put my story out there and you all changed our mind with all of the stories and encouragement!! I am a little disappointed with our new pair of shoes this time around... we needed to get a bigger size along with the longer bar and the day after we got them we noticed that the bar was loose and also when we took the shoes off of Avery she had a few red marks and what almost looks like a blister... we put band-aides on the heels but it bothers me that it is happening because last fall she didn't have any problems... I need to call in on Monday and get her back in the be checked but she is actually doing very good and rolling and trying to crawl so it doesn't seem to be stopping her from doing things... I am so glad... If anyone had any info on the padding please let me know.. Thank you Ciccione

Guest guest
Hi ! That's fantastic things are going so well. What a tremendous story you'll have to tell Avery someday huh? Stories like yours makes all this so worthwhile :~} About the bar padding: Go get some 3/4 " pipe foam at the hardware store. It's like $4 for a 4pack of 36 " pieces here. You can then cut it to the length of the bar and tape it on (I do it all the way to the end of the bar, covering the bolts). I like the black athletic tape over electrical tape but anything works. Masking tape even. I cut under the shoes so it fits tight and the tape it all up leaving it black. But you can then take a piece of fabric and hot glue it to the foam to make it pretty if you like. Who was making covers here as of late? My mind is so muddled I can't remember my own name much less anyone elses. Sorry. But this is pretty easy to do yourself. I never made covers, they would have just got dirty lol! I have some pictures, if you're on the CFPics list I can send them there for you. Or directly, LMK. I'm pretty sure there's a folder in the CFPics photo library of bar padding too. Guest guest
I am sooooo happy everything is going so well!!! I get so excited when I hear someone changed their mind about surgery!!! Yeah! I'm sure this has been answered already, but we found the car seat straps work wonderfully! I am not a sewer (boy that spelling doesn't look right!) What I mean is I don't sew! LOL so we opted to go either with the pipe foam or the car seat straps and we happened to have two of those left over. They work very well too! Good for you and keep pressing on!! That's awesome! FINALLY WALKING 10-09-03 mitchells 16 hours a day...faithfully!!!! > Hello > I was just wondering if anyone knows where you can find padding that goes along the bar of the DBB? Guest guest
hahahahahah! You are right, seamstress it is! Thanks, I still get weepy seeing him walk down the hall! He's doing great. He's still locking his left knee and overcompensating, so I am still praying for a miracle. But we've got two months to work on it! 10-09-03 > > > Hello > > > I was just wondering if anyone knows where you can find padding > that goes along the > > bar of the DBB?
