Guest guest
Renae- Are you pre-op or post-op? That very thing would happen to me on occasion pre-op, but never has post-op. Maybe some tums before you go to bed? That's what I used to always do! Good luck to you. -Sherry (Lake Marcel, WA) BPD/DS Feb. 2, 2001 self-pay 5'5 " / 315 pounds / 33 years old Lost 9 pounds in pre-op weight loss efforts Have lost 96 pounds since surgery! Guest guest
Dear Renae, Yes, I've experienced this. I have GERD: acid reflux disease. If I do one of the no-nos: eat too soon before bedtime, eat chocolate, have alcohol, etc. it is worse. This sounds like GERD to me. Please call your doctor. They will usually prescribe prilosec or prevacid and this usually takes care of it. Your doc will probably give you advice about what to eat and what not to eat, especially close to bed time. You also might want to try sleeping with your head more elevated: either with pillows or by raising the head of your bed with bricks. This is often recommended to GERD patients. But do call your doc. Peace and blessings, Robyn stomach acid!! HELP Last night I woke up choking on my own stomach acid. There was this huge rush of acid that came up my throat with such a powerful force it surged into my mouth. I was actually strangled by it and choking and coughing. Had it been any more powerful it would have even came out my nose. Anyone experience this? I have NEVER seen a post on it, I would appreciate any help. Guest guest
Do you have a hiatal hernia? This sounds like what I was going through just before my surgery. Dr. Ren repaired a massive hernia for me during my DS. Marcia -----Original Message-----From: Renae Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2001 6:28 PMTo: duodenalswitch Subject: stomach acid!!
