Guest guest
Hi - My name is Melodie. I have been lurking and would like to become more active in this group. I live in Northern Calif. I have an appointment with Dr. Rabkin in SF on July 30th. I received a packet to fill out. Delphine also gave me the name of a dr. to take a psych test on the same day (because of travel time = 2.5 hrs.)and a pulmonary dr. too. I called my INS co. United Health care and they said the consult was covered as was the pulmonary doc. The psych is not in my contracted group and is " out of the area " . I weight 265 and am 5'6 " . BMI=42.78. I have been overweight my entire life and am going to write the " diet history " before I go to Rabkin. I have been on Prozac for years. I am currently on Prozac and wellbutrin. I also take Vioxin for sore feet and arm, and Allegra for allergies. I take Clonzapam to help me sleep and I have a CPAP for Sleep Apnea. I am seeing a counselor for the " Depression " and trying to find the root of my eating problems. She/my husband are concerned that after the surgery I will still be faced with " unresolved " eating issues. I am a complusive eater. I can go 8 hours without a bite, but if I start, nothing is safe. I eat until I am stuffed/sick/disgusted, etc. So now that you know more about me than 98% of the people I know, Can I have some feedback? What should I expect? What should I be prepared for with Dr. Rabkin? I would like to get off all of the pills. I am not a sweets person but a carbaholic. Any advice is welcome.
