You know, one thing I ADORE and has tons of protein: Chinese dim > sum. Oh, - I used to love dim sum - all of it - every kind. I used to make up any excuse to go to LA (over an hour away) so I could include dim sum as part of the trip. My surgery was done at USC univ. hosp, which is in downtown. The day prior to surgery my DH and I had to be at the hosp for pre-po stuff that took most of the morning. With great delight, we planned on a late morning dim sum lunch at out favorite restaurant, which we had been to many times before. As usual it was fantastic - and was perfect for that " last meal' syndrome. To my horror, we were both food poisoned by that meal. If it had just been me, I could have attributed it to pre-surgery anxiety, but with both of us with diarrhea and vomiting, that was the only logical conclusion. I had to call my surgeons assistant that night and ask what to do. I was told to come in anyway and they would make a determination then, based on my fluid loss. That morning, getting out of bed was so hard to do - I felt so awful, was nervous, etc. Of course I went anyway, figuring that if i postponed I would still feel awful, and I may as well feel awful after the surgery!!! Luckily, they did it as planned. But, to my dismay, I still cannot bear the thought of any kind of dim sum - even after 5 months. I hope I get it back some day!! Thanks for all your other suggestions, though . I'll try some chicken/apple sausages - they sound really good.

Guest guest
> IF you need to know the brand of the apple-chicken sausages, I can look for you. I'd appreciate that. I've tried some brands here and there, but most are too heavy, also. I had my surgery just 3 weeks after yours, and our starting weights were similar, so we're kind of on the same track. I seem to be stuck between 65 - 70 lbs., but it will move down eventually. Mostly, I am amazed at how much better I feel, especially since i don't have those high blood surgars that wiped me out pre-surgery. I feel like I have my life back, don't you? And speaking of life - Happy Birthday!! I hope you had a great celebration. My DH's BD is on the 22nd, so maybe we'll do dinner out. This is so much more fun since i became a " cheap date " ! I can get a fancy/schmancy appetizer and be completely satisfied. Take care Ellen DS 2/14/01 310 Dr. Anthone 7/18/01 240 - 70 lbs.
