My PCP prescribed Prozac for me back in 1994 to "help me lose weight". I wish it had worked. If it had, I would have been thin years ago and not had to have my BPD/DS. One of the side effects of prozac is supposed to be as an appetite suppressent. It costs a lot of money and changes your serontium uptake in your brain. But, it didn't make me lose weight, it didn't stop my weight gain after the VBG band popped off my stomach. I even think it didn't make me a more calm person which an antidepressant is supposed to do. I still felt unhappy and depressed. Now, with the 84 lbs gone. And if I include the 30 I kept off from the VBG in 1993, that's 114 lbs gone forever! If you're not on Prozac now, don't go on it.
