Guest guest
Marcia, After I've had dairy, (yogurt or milk), it takes a couple of hours, but I get very gassy and I can feel my insides gurgling like crazy. I don't think I have a Major lactose intolerance though, it doesn't make me sick or anything. I can have dairy in moderate amounts. I took my pain meds for about 2 weeks faithfully, and then tapered off and just took them at bed time for a while. By 3 weeks I didn't need them anymore. As long as you are uncomfortable take your meds, it really helped me. As soon as you are ready to drive, make sure you are off of them. Hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Guest guest
Just a quick question: what are symptoms of lactose intolerance? I've never had it, but this morning after a breakfast of fat-free cottage cheese, mushed banana, and a tsp. of fat-free sour cream (I'm 4 days post-op) I have a dull pain, almost gassy, above and to the left of my navel. It also seems to want to radiate toward the back. Should I take a vicodin or, if it's gas, will it pass? I've been feeling pretty darn good since the surgery (Of course, that's with the help of moderate pain-killers:which leads to another question, how long should I be taking pain killers. What's the average time limit. I don't want to become dependent but I also want to be comfortable.) Thanks for any advice. Marcia post-op (yay!!!!!)7/13, DR.
