Guest guest
Good morning all! I hope you have all enjoyed a good holiday weekend...now, it is back to work! :-) It has come to my attention that there has been some posts that has used vile language and some of our members are upset because of it. Folks, we NEED to remember that we have nearly 500 members now and we are ALL sick! We do not have the energy or the time to fight over things like this. We ALL need to be tolerant of each others beliefs..... Like the Religious Issue, we need to also be careful when we use "bad" language. To some, it is really hard to sit here and read; others it is just everyday stuff; others just don't care;.......but, with nearly 500 people, we need to be a little more caring and a little more tolerant. There are people who lean too far one way or the other and that is to be expected with this many people, but you need to stop and consider the feelings of those who you might offend. Is it worth the trouble???? If we allow the use of "bad words" all the time, then we MUST in return, allow the use of Religious topics without restraint, and we have been there and done that with disasterous results! There are many religions on this list and there are many different types of people as well as nationalities.........and we have done very well with mixing it all......please, let's keep it that way. We need to focus on helping each other and living the best we can. We do not have the time or energy to spend on items that cause problems. This is not intended to hurt anyone or point fingers......it is simply an issue that has come up and has to be dealt with before it DOES hurt someone. Thanks for your consideration and know that this is sent with much love and consideration for each and every one of you. Guest guest
I agree that people need to be more tolerant to a point. We can simply put in a warning, as was done, in the topic, so that people who are sensitive to such things can avoid the unpleasant postings if they choose to. I acutally thought it was refreshing. Sometimes, these words are the only ones that uniquely fit the moment!! That being said, I grew up in Queens NY and the F-bomb is like "the" in sentences there... Also, I have noticed whithin the last week or so, religious topics without OT in the subject line. I do believe in God and use prayer in my life, but not everyone does and we should be cognizant of that. So, warning, warning, Will !!! I found the "you don't look sick" website, and on it, they have "Sarcoidosis Sucks" apparel and also "Having a bad flare day" stuff, too. Thought they were very appropo, no?? Guest guest
Thanks, Bonnie, I agree. There was a topic heading that said 'much swearing'. Who opens it, reads it and then complains!!!?....lol. Maybe they don't have a delete button...lol. The reason I used this site before others is the freedom to really tell it like it is. When I first joined it was alot worse than anything posted in the last week. I'm a Christian, too, but sometimes I hurt beyond what regular words describe. Happy good neighbor day! hugs S. ps. my post was to Stu to make him laugh, too.quiltenbe@... wrote: I agree that people need to be more tolerant to a point. Guest guest
I totally agree that we should be tolerant--a subject line warning is plenty. Afterall if we see an adults only store and we're offended by what may be inside, we don't usually walk in. This is no different. I am a christian and don't usually use bad language, but to be a christian is to be loving and a friend to everyone. Being judgemental isn't how were supposed to be. Let's be here to support each other not condemn. If you don't want to read it don't walk in. Carla > I agree that people need to be more tolerant to a point. Guest guest
Being a Christian is about love and kindness and caring about others as well as being a witness for God who is the only judge. When the subject matter is not labeled as being offensive (many of the recent inappropriate emails have NOT been labeled as offensive) it is open to all who open the posting to read about what is supposed to be sarcoidosis related subject matter. Words DO have power. I refuse to "go along" with this. I will always try to stand up for what is right. By not doing so I would be doing a disservice to my faith and to God. Venting is fine but it can be done in an adult and mature manner. Since I unsubscribed earlier this will be my last email to the group. May God bless each and everyone of you.carlaallen2 wrote: I totally agree that we should be tolerant--a subject line warning is plenty.
