Guest guest
Stu, ...like Rose says you can swear all you want if the mood hits. Anyone in this kind of pain has more right than anyone to let off a bit(or more) of steam once in awhile. I have used the work fuck outright when needed and here a shit there a shit if it fits. Sometimes a FUCK FUCK FUCK says it best and right. Sometimes I am in too much pain to be eloquent(sp) and dainty in my descriptions... Damn and bitch and pile of steaming crap I have also used. As long as we don't use them against each other but to describe some of the shit going on in our lives it is perfectly acceptable. My doc is a moron at times and I really need to see someone else but it's so fuckin hard that I just don't try. It should not be this shittin' hard! Well, I've got that out of my system and am going to lay down again. Please forgive me,...those of you with tender ears. Stu, sometimes it's better to rant here than to those who live with us. Though my husband just laughs when I swear like a sailor cuz I never used to. have a good day, S.lizzyandstu wrote: Everyones a *% & *% *^^*^ d critic, so whats a few !s among friends, yes the button stuck a couple of times, what can I say I had my infustion yesterday morning so I was shakin like a can full o bumble bees, and it didnt help that I was madder than a wet cat when I was readin what those doc were saying to their patients. So Illl tryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to show more class but I have to warn that Lizzy has been trying to get this old redneck to be classier for more than a quarter century and the best shes gotten so far is I dont USUALLY pass gas in church anymore. So good luck on your endeavor, oh and as for what I was rantin about, I meant every damned word of it. c ya, Stu Park yourself in front of a world of choices in alternative vehicles.Visit the Yahoo! Guest guest
Okay, is this another entry in the rant competition? Stu, why is your mouth sore? Have your docs considered treating you for thrush (oral fungal infection)? I didn't have problems with it on Pred & Imuran, but while on Mtx, I had one major outbreak while in San for my daughter's wedding, so didn't get treated for 3 days until "Back Home Again in Indiana." (State song everyone, so please stand respectfully.) Anyway, once I started swigging that stuff they give babies (can't recall the name right now), it cleared up within a few days. I did not have the white placque I've seen in babies, but my mouth & tongue were so sore I couldn't even tolerate mild toothpaste; I had to just use water for awhile. The inside of my lower lip looked like many tiny paper cuts & was swollen. That was also the time of my first really severe dry mouth episode. I'd been extra thirsty for a couple of years, but this was awful. My lower jaw felt like someone had punched me, but wasn't swollen or bruised. Because my glands under my jaw were swollen, my PCP decided that I had an infection in my salivary glands, as well as thrush, & treated me with the baby stuff & antibiotics. I've never had a biopsy of the salivary glands to confirm it, but a couple of my docs (and I concur) believe that I have secondary Sjogren's syndrome, from the sarc. Anyway, since the first thrush attack, I've had several times where my mouth started feeling a little sore. I don't wait to see if it clears up; I just start using the (why can't I remember the name of something I used to prescribe?!? I could go look at the bottle, but I want to remember it myself!) baby stuff & it clears right up in a day. I've been off the Mtx for over a year, and I think I've only had 1 or 2 episodes since. So, Stu, if you are still awake after reading this, if you haven't been treated for thrush, give it a go; can't hurt, might help. Ramblin' Rose Moderator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
Okay, Tracie, what is the "full California salute?" My paternal grandmother, something of a nut but lots of fun, used to refer to the "California Brush-off," when some family member would get ticked off (which happened frequently!) and ignore everyone, even sitting with their back to the rest. Are you familiar with that term, or did Grandma make it up? Ramblin' Rose Moderator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
Okay, how many of you are old enough to remember Carlin in the '70's? He did a routine about violence vs. sex in movies & tv, saying he would rather have his kids watch two people making love than two people hurting each other. Then he presents dialogue from a typical Western in which he replaces the word "kill" with "f---." It's pretty funny; e.g. "We're gonna f___ you sheriff, and we're gonna f___ you slowwww." A counselor once told me that the word f___ came from the Pilgrims' time, when sinners were put into stocks & the letters were written above them, standing for "For unlawful carnal knowledge." I've always meant to look that up & see if it's true, but it makes sense; the word had to come from somewhere. Ramblin' Rose Moderator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
Well I dont know if that has any basis in reality, other than the pills carlin was takin in the sixties, but I love it. By the way did I ever tell you about my great grandmother? She raised six kids by herself after her husband died of a stroke right at the start of the great depression, managed to get all six through college and off onto very sucesssful lives without any of the whinning you hear today. and through all tshe did she kept a great sense of humor and strong shoulder for everyopne in the family. One of my favorite memories was my grand mother barking at my uncle about his trying pot at the age of 18 or 19 furing the times when everyone was trying it and she was so angry and going to disown him setc etc etc, and my gram, her mom by th way, who was sooooooo much cooler than my grandma said ah hell billy, (uncle) if she kicks yer ass out you come stay with me, but bring a couple of those funny cigs with you cuz granny wants to see what all the buzz is about! As you might have guessed Grandma calmed down, greatgrandmas usual fuckit attitude won out uncle kept smokin and ended in trouble but it had lilttle to do with anyone other than him and his own weaknesswes, and we all loved gram everyday we had her!....
