Guest guest
Hi Everyone - I live in California & I work for a small company. I spoke with my HR dept and with my immediate boss. I told HR that I there is a possiblity that I might be having surgery within the next few months (I did not say what type of surgery.) HR told me that after my first week off I will then be eligible to go onto short-term disability. When I spoke with my immediate boss, I told her that all about the surgery and that I will be out on disability for several weeks (4-8 weeks). I am an accountant and was worried about loosing the specific accounts that I handled. To my ultimate surprise, she said that she is very happy for me and that it takes alot of courage to do what I am going to do. She applauds my decision to have surgery and all of my accounts will be waiting for me when I get back. She also said that after the surgery, when I feel ready, I could even come back 1/2 days for a week or so to see how things go. I was surprised and proud to work at and with such a receptive employer. gail __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hi! Sounds like you 1)must be a valued employee and 2)your employer/co-worker is a very understanding person. I pray that when the lucky day I go for the switch my boss is understanding. Steve G. > Hi Everyone - > I live in California & I work for a small company.
