Guest guest
Not sure about the feeding question, sorry. Grace has a g tube, but we do not use it for nutrition and she does not have a pump. You can get liquid CoQ10 from www.epic4health.com or by calling 1-. Make sure you mention it is for a mito kiddo, and they will give you a discount. I believe it is around $50 a bottle (we switched Grace to chewables so I cannot remember the price exactly.) If you are planning to put it through her feeding tube, do it first or use alot of water to flush. It is rather thick and it sticks to the tubing if you don't flush it well. Guest guest
, How old is ? My 8.5 yr old son Lucas is J-tube fed and had been orally fed until 4 years of age. Currently we are also venting his G-tube (separate stoma) about 12-15 hours a day. His rate is 78 cc's an hour and has been for quite a long time. He is on his pump about 17 hours a day. We use the tishcon brand from www.epic4health.com also. I have found the double strength of the LiQ10 100mg/5 ml to be just the right consistency for him but we also used the LiQ10 of 50mg/5ml and add a bit of water to it. The tishcon brand is water soluable and therefore is not as oily as the contents of a gelcap and goes down the tube quite well. The 50 mg/5ml brand is cheaper and if you call and let them know you heard that you can get a special price due to your child having a mito or suspected mito dosage you can get it for $45 I believe. However, the double strength cost me $114 a bottle. (Not sure why it wasn't closer to $90. With Lucas we would slowly increase the rate by 1 cc an hour every couple of days and that would seem to lessen the cramping and allow us to get up to the rate he needed for the amount of calories he needed to have. Lucas is a chewer and a cogntive level of a 6 month old. He is healthier and happier without vomiting and therefore not sure what hunger pains he gets. Guest guest
Hi , Sorry for not writing back sooner my name is Ange and my daughter is she is 5 and has Mito Complex 1 she is feed by G tube but at a very low rate due to her stomach delay. The co q10 I use comes in a liquid form and and easily digested and has a orange flavor taste. If you like I can send the information on were I get it. How much is she on? now about the vomiting what kind of formula are you on?, does she only throw up on feeds?, the j tube might have come out of the top part of the intestine. did that when she had a j-tube and it came out that is how we knew it was in her stomach. So for so many questions I would make an appt with your GI just to have them check the placement of the tube. Hope this helps Ange -------------- Original message -------------- hi guys, does anyone know where to get liquid co enzyme q 10 and second lauren is vomiting daily (we feed her orally only when she wants it) and have her hooked up to the pumb with her j-tube anyone out there that has been in this situation if we feed her j-tube only is she hungry? we only have the rate at 30ml/hr now afraid of possible cramping any input appretiated thank you lisaPlease contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
