Hi Everyone,

Yes, I am in AWE of the POWER of this surgery!! I have lost (drum roll,

please) 50 pounds in 5 weeks!!!!

OK, well, it's really like 48.5 lbs, but forgive me for the indulgence of

rounding up? Wow! I am feeling SO GOOD right now! Let's just see how my

stamina holds up next week as I return to work!

And, sure, I know that most of this early weight loss was water weight - but

that is one of the reasons why I feel so much better. I must have had 30

lbs of water in my feet and lower legs alone for *months* as a pre-op. I

thought if I got a mosquito bite, or something, my legs would literally

explode like a pair of water balloons! LOL! But, seriously folks, it was

really painful and now that pain is gone! Heck, my feet and ankles actually

have WRINKLES in them! Who-da-thunk I'd be so ecstatic to see new

*wrinkles* appearing!!!

I saw my PCP yesterday, on my 5 week anniversary of my DS and he actually

congratulated me! For those of you newbies, my PCP was very much against me

having this surgery, but supported me in the end. He did say he had quite a

scare when I had my bout with pancreatitis a few weeks back and he said he

is still seeing wls " horror stories " but is glad mine has come along so

well.

Oh, and that nausea I had been experiencing the last few weeks has been

dissipating with the more fluid I take in each day. I thought I was really

getting in enough fluid, but I had noticed that on my really yucky

vommitting days when I felt the most queasy, my urine was extremely dark.

The more conscientious I got about getting in my fluids, the better I feel!

And thanks, Janice for the tea suggestions - I LOVE it! Dehydration and

nausea - another who-da-thunk-it!?!

Guess that's about all for now - just couldn't wait to share the wonderful

news. Thank you all, for your help, good thoughts, prayers, and SUPPORT!!!

What an AMAZING thing we are a part of!!

Oh, and an off-topic prayer/positive thought request. My, dh, , (who

has been a true GEM throughout all of this for me) has a REALLY promising

interview tomorrow after an extremely lengthy job search. Please wish him

the best of success tomorrow in hopes that he KNOCKS THEIR SOCKS OFF!!!

It's his turn now!

Thank you, my friends.

Terri, This is the other Terry. Just wanted to ask you how you won your

" Out-of-Network " Ins. I want to have Dr. Welker do my surgery but he is

not a provider for my insurance company but he is the only on in this area

that does the D.S. Is this what you are talking about when you say out of

network. Sorry I am not up on these things yet.
