I once talked to a gal whose total cholesterol got to 40 and her doc begged her to eat more fat to bring it up to 45! What are normal tryglycerides?? Typical results after DS drop to from a starting value of 200 to about 120 at 6 months, so you are already there. You big drop is actually quite typical of this surgery, and almost justifies it on that basis alone (even w/o the associated weight loss). Some reserach was done in Italy where the BPD procedure was performed without gastric restriction on diabetics with mild to moderate obiesity. The thing was, they only lost a little weight, but every one of them was cured from their diabetes. I don't have the full report (only abstract), but I suspect that their lipid levels performed similarly.
