Guest guest
Hi , I remember those days with Elijah. Partially b/c he's screamed all morning with his *see above post for his relapse* I remember there being an adjustment period where they just cry until they resolve that the shoes arent coming off and they get used to them. Thats no comfort to the mommy thats listening to a screaming baby tho'. The only thing I could suggest is maybe a quick 10 minute bath to brighten her mood and then get her back into the shoes. After Elijah adjusted to his shoes, he'd only scream when they hurt and more times than not... especially lately, that was when he was trying to pull his feet out and he'd get the heel partially up but couldnt get his foot the rest of the way out. You might check to see if her heel is all the way down. My heart goes out to you.... Lori

Guest guest
, Is she in Dr. Dobbs articulating brace with the AFO's or a standard bar and Markell shoes? Or the articulating brace with the Markells? If she's in the Markells, I can send you a tips file that should help. I'm sorry she's so upset but it might just be getting used to the brace. Exactly *how* upset is she? Is she screaming like she's dying and kicking her feet like she's trying to get the brace off or is it less than that? Let us know how it's going and what shoes she's got so we can help you through this. Hang in there, it WILL get better. Promise! Guest guest
, This could just be adjustment time for her, this is often the case when any of the babies first start in any of the braces. They just have to figure out that it is not going to go away. If she is still not adjusting after tonight, I would definitely call Dr. Dobbs office or email him mattdobbs@... . The one thing you should check is the bar width, if the bar is too narrow or wide it can cause them to be uncomfortable or even be painful. Hope this helps, if you need anything please feel free to email me as well at jagrindon@... . I talk to Dr. Dobbs regularly so let me know if you'd like me to touch base with him for you.
