Guest guest
It sounds like reflux / problem swallowing secretions to me. My daughter has had a lot of it lately at night. I wonder about the screaming too.. My daughters really began after an illness and she can sound congested at night. After an illness could be that her swallow has weakened related to tone/energy etc. I am still new at this , but those are my thoughts… good luck Suzanne M. man From: thefourofus03 Sent: Wednesday, December 01, 2004 6:41 AM To: Mito Subject: Anyone have this??? Last night Molly woke up screaming and acted like she was going to throw up. As she was sitting in bed tons of drool was just pooring out of her mouth. I finally got her picked up to get her into the bathroom and she burped, and then some more and she seemed to calm down. This has never happend to her before. She is 3 1/2. Hadn't been drinking any pop or such. Two weeks ago she was inpatient with the flu but has seemed fine since other than diarrhea since she came back from her dad (she is on a diet free of wheat, peanut, milk and egg and he doesn't follow it well and she always returns with some diarrhea). Any words of advice would be appreciated. Dawn Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
Guest guest
We have had this happen quite a bit with several of our kids and it is usually related to asthma activity. Phlegm production gets much more and it is hard to get out so they often will gag, burp, foam at the mouth, drool tons, etc. until they can get it out. If you notice this happening again you can try to either use a steam shower treatment or use the nebulizer with asthma meds to see if it helps her better. It can be a little scary looking at times. The burps are strange, but just a part of it, probably from them not breathing quite properly during the asthma attack and so they swallow excessive amounts of air as well as the excessive phlegm also causing bubbly, air filled substances. Hope this helps some. Guest guest
Grace will act similar to this when her blood sugar is low. Often she wakes up very shaky, sweaty and very disoriented. She can also upset herself so much that she vomits. Usually a snack will help her to fall back asleep. Best wishes. carrie Find the music you love on MSN Music. Start downloading now! Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Have you tried propping Molly up with pillows I have to do that for she had such severe reflux we had to finally get a fundo. But she still has reflux I notice that it seems to come on after alot of exercise or stress. The pillows do help though.
