Guest guest
Hi Pam, I would not worry to much about the move. They are probably just shifting around the patient overload. The waiting time from the time that you get your letter until you would get your appointment in SSF for orientation is about 4 months. So I think it is in your favor so that you can get started on your way to surgery sooner. Ramona
Guest guest
I received my letter about a month ago that I was accepted. But I am going to Richmond. I'm thing orientation should be mid January. Maybe will be in the same class? azurewinds@... wrote: I got a letter today saying that because of the waiting list at SSF I am being moved to Richmond. I just got approved a month ago haven't gone to my first appts yet. Is this happening to anyone else at my stage? I have to confess to a little paranoia. I had such a hard time making my mind up to do this, I don't want anything to go wrong now. Pam

Guest guest
Oh, I hope not! I'm about at the same point; my approval letter was sent 11/18, and I haven't gotten my orientation letter yet. But Richmond is a LOT further for me in terms of how long it takes to get there - I'm down in San , though; where are you coming from? Also, how long did it take for you to get the letter with your orientation date? I've been watching the mail like a hawk but nothing has come yet. Guest guest
Pam I am 8 months post op as of Dec. 11th and I have to tell you I have so many good things to say about the Richmond WLS, all the wonderful people who work there and the surgeons are great. I know getting moved from one place to another is hard, but don't be discouraged, I have had only great help through all this at Richmond. I hope you feel the same once there. Guest guest
I was told that patients with PCPs at Santa Clara (which includes most folks who live in San , at least those of us in the northern part!) go through SSF. Milpitas folks go through Fremont. I don't know about those in southern San who go to the Santa hospital for their PCP. I assume Fremont has to take care of more people from Alameda and the East and South San / Hill area. Guest guest
Pam, you are probably be glad that you got switch to Richmond. It seems like the turn out is quicker (I mean for getting the procedure done). I went through Richmond and that is where I started. I wish you well. Please don't think anything negative about the switch. All things happen for a reason. Guest guest
Hi Pam, O was at the support group tonight in Santa Clara and the subject was brought up about shifting patients. The nutritionist Beth who works out of SSF said that they transferred 100 patients to Fremont and Richmond. (50 and 50). It was to try to relieve the backlog they have there. She said that at SSF is about 16 weeks for orientation once you have gotten your letter of acceptance. So I think that the move will be very beneficial to you.
