,

I remember my dad using the gumption- and it still catches me off guard- at least then I'm paying attention to him.. LOL!

I so understand the hyperactivity following the infusions, and mines is not Cytoxan-- and for that I'm grateful.

It is one of the Yee-haw nights, and I so need to get some sleep. I've been up most nights this week, and I know I'm tired. At least there is no physical therapy, counseling, or doc appts tomorrow-- until we go see my DC at 4pm. But, hey, I'll get dinner afterwards.

Take care, and take some deep breathes, you'll get thru this.

, I got the first month's supply of Focalin free because the doc gave me a coupon. You can only use a coupon once. I don't know about Medicare because I'm in the gap & having to pay for it anyway. It's been about $110. As I understand it, it's like a cousin of Ritalin, without the stuff that causes the worst Ritalin side effects. I've been on Ritalin for quite awhile, mostly to just stay awake. But I would be kind of hyper most of the day, then just crash in the afternoon. With the Focalin, I can stay awake & actually get a little bit done. I start winding down in the afternoon, but don't just crash. Now, this week has been different. I started with some GI symptoms on Sunday night, felt worse Monday (didn't even babysit my niece's kids) and Tuesday. Then Wed. that stuff was all cleared up, but I just felt exhausted. I slept most of Wed. & Thursday (I did babysit the kids Wed. evening, but I really just wanted to sleep), and I'm still very tired today. I slept until noon, then drove home from my daughter's (about an hour drive) and got on the computer to catch up email, but I really just want to sleep. Hopefully, it's just a bug or something, but if I'm not back to "normal" by Monday, I'm going to call one of my docs--I guess I'll do an eenie, meenie, miney mo thing. I really just want to get an ACE level.

First, I take back everything I said bad about Dr Lower! LOL She wasn't as rushed today and smiled and asked me about the sock I was knitting. She dropped my Cytoxan 100 mg AGAIN today!!!!! At this rate I'll be off it soon. Oh wait I already told that part... I asked her about the Focalin? She said she could write it for me. She said they were starting a study but if I wanted she'd write it now. It was too late to see if Medicare will pay for it. She saw my index card with my questions. I mentioned the drug & wrote "chemobrain" next to it. That caught her attention and she asked where I heard it. I told her about the group and I mentioned the Indy Sarc retreat and how I couldn't make it this year but I was going to try next year. I asked about any in Cincy. She said they hadn't had one there for a few years but they might do one. She said they are going to present a paper in Japan after Indy! How cool is that? I think I was projecting all my anger at her instead of the disease. When I'm wrong I'm wrong! She did say the drug was similar to Ritalin so I don't want to try it until I google it. WebMD keeps kicking me out for some reason. LOL Sorry about the ramble but there's nobody to talk to at 1:30 am.

ROSE! GET THE SQUIRRELS WITH THE TIN FOIL OUT OF MY BRAIN!!!!! Geez I have the attention span of a gnat! Oh that reminds me of a saying I heard....I think from my sisters inlaws...Something about not having enough gumtion(?) to get the gnats out their own asses! That's not to dirty is it? Sorry. Off to try and play a game, knit a sock, pack everybody in Dayton's houses and all the other crazy thing in this drug ridden brain......Night all and I'll probably still be awake when you guys get up.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Rose I forget what the ACE level is. If they've ever checked mine noone has ever told me. Is it a blood test? The steroid mania has calmed down. Thank God! I was getting on my own last nerve. LOL I made it to the brides ladies night out dinner tonight. Not exactly a bachelorette thingee because only one person had 2 beers, we didn't go to a bar, I didn't throw up in the parking lot, and we didn't have a male stripper! It was nice though. I have mellowed so much in the last 5 years. I did feed my face pretty good & there weren't any leftovers on my plate. Plus after dessert at Perkins I got a mammoth muffin to go and believe me it's long gone.Join our Sock Challenge for Orphans in Kazakhstan - 265 pairs needed by 9/15/07 http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/Mittens_ for_Akkol/ grannylunatic@...

, the ACE level is a test for inflammation. They can test spinal fluid, but usually blood. It's not diagnostic for sarc, but if you have known sarc it can be useful to check for a flare, or confirm that treatment is helping. At our lab, normal is 8-52, I believe. Until this summer, mine had never been elevated, although the first couple of times it was done I was on an ACE-inhibitor for my blood pressure, which can affect the results. This spring it was 22, when all my docs, including Baughman, agreed that I was in remission. Then in June it was 60, but I wasn't feeling any different, so we decided to just check it again in 6 months.

I like the oatmeal cremes too, especially because you can tell yourself they are good for you! I also love the nutter butter bars & the pecan swirls. I try to avoid the Little Debbie display!

Yeah, and when you walk by, the Little Debbie's holler at you. It's embarrassing. You have no choice, really. You have to buy them just to make them shut up. It's not our fault.
