Guest guest
Hi all, I just thought about something today that you may find helpful. When my children were younger they constantly passed colds and viruses all around the family. I mentioned it to our then family Dr. who said that toothbrushes were the number one cause of family sharing viruses because they touch each other, or the kids get them mixed up. He suggested his patients put the toothbrushes in mouthwash to kill anything. So I got those child yogurt cups and separated the brushes apart with mouthwash in each cup, then changed the mouthwash every couple of days. It was a huge decrease in virus sharing right away. I don't do it anymore since they are older, but do still use mouthwash cups during an episode of cold or flu, then throw the brushes away when everyone gets over it. It was the best suggestion I received for cutting the viruses down. Hope this helps. Thanks, Joni

Guest guest
Around here we put all the toothbrushes in the dishwasher when there is something going around. You can do it everyday if you want, or on a need basis. It beats having to throw away toothbrushes after every illness. (With 5 kids, I need to save every penny I can!) Guest guest
Hi , I didn't think of that- do you have to put them in the top rack or can they be put in the basket on the bottom. Also, do you use detergent or just water? Thanks, Joni >

Guest guest
I put them in the bottom basket. We usually just throw them in with the other dishes and make sure we use the hot cycle. So far we havent melted one, hope the streak continues! Find files on your PC instantly with the new MSN Toolbar Suite – FREE!
