Hi HeidiC,

It sounds like your friend had the RNY. The main differnce between

the two is that the DS leaves the stomach functioning as it did

before surgery. The RNY destroys the stomach's natural function and

creates a new " pouch " which holds the food. You need to research the

features, results, quality of life of both of the surgeries and

decide which one you can be compliant with for the rest of your
