Guest guest
I do not know about this brand of fish oil but I am on Carlson's lemon flavored fish oil which Dr. Mercola recommends. My neurologist really wanted me on flaxseed oil but I am sensitive to flax since undergoing prednisone treatments in 1980. So the lemon flavored fish oil is okay to take as I am picky about anything fishy. My neurologist recommended me upping my intake of the fish oil. Guest guest
When I went to my high school reunion a couple of weeks ago, one of my old classmates started talking to me about this doctor, Barry Sears. I've never heard of him, but I guess he's a best-selling author of health books. I don't know if he's the real deal, like Dr. Oz, or a snake oil salesman. Is anyone familiar with him, or his books? I guess the biggie is "The Zone." Anyway, my old friend Jeff knows about my problems because I've stayed good friends with his sister. So he started talking about fish oil, but it can't be just ANY fish oil; it's got to be Dr. Sears' fish oil, which is "high-dose pharmaceutical grade." Now Jeff is extremely bright, an RN, and not someone I would expect to be gullible. But I haven't seen him in about 20 years. He was very diplomatic, said that he didn't want to be intrusive, yada, yada, but he really thought that this could make a big difference for me. That night I got an email from him saying that he was sending me Dr. Sears' book about the fish oil, "The Omega-Rx Zone." Sure enough, in a few days I received a nice hardback book. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but I'm really skeptical. Dr. Sears' fish oil is much more expensive than "ordinary" fish oil, of course. He doesn't recommend eating the fish, because of all the contamination. Anybody got an opinion? Ramblin' Rose Moderator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
Rose Me personally, I prefer to eat the food and not have to buy meds too. I think if we're careful about not to much fish and watch where our fish is coming from we can maybe keep the harmful stuff out of our bodies. But what do I know? I keep sticking my arm out for the Cytoxan treatment! LOL My opinion and that and $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Guest guest
Yes, and believe it or not it does not make you belch like the capsules do and it is very light tasting, not fishy. I would be the first to say ewwwww and that it was awful. It is lemon flavored and I take it and then have a sip of coffee. It has to be refrigerated and you have to use it within a certain time frame otherwise it does start to get stronger as it ages.See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
