Guest guest
Hi all, I just wanted to add to the school posts that we are blessed to have so many options available for each individual child in this country. Keep exploring all of your options and choose what works for you and your child. There are advantages and disadvantages to every option, but there are many different opportunities available. We are considering public school next year for at least our daughter, private school for our older son, and online or public school for Collin. We have to wait and see, we may just finish up with homeschooling as well. It just is neat to me that there are options for every family and child. One of the main considerations I give each year is what do they want to do? Those with pre-schoolers can't really use that as a gauge as much, but you and only you know the best thing for your child. Not friends, family, church members, or anyone. You know first and foremost your child. We all in this group know how to cherish the individual moment, so just do what you know is the best for your family. I have dealt with people's misunderstanding of homeschooling (mistakenly thinking they are missing out) and I have dealt with other homeschoolers who wonder how I could think of sending Collin to public school. Usually, none of the people giving the " advice " has ever walked in these shoes. I didn't mean to go on so much, I just am passionate about not limiting our options. Raising a child with mito disorder is demanding of our emotions and finances, and only we really know what we have to do to. Mito disorder is even so very different from family to family that what works for one family may not work for another. Just keep evaluating from year to year. Thanks, Joni
