my question is this: could these problems be worsening because of the Imuran or could it be I am not taking enough? Does anyone else get severe fatigue from Imuran?

One of the challenges of any of the immunosupressants is the increased fatigue. I do hope your MD is doing monthly CBC's and LFT's-- (liver function tests) as well as supplementing you with Folic Acid-(B12.)

It is easy to end up with Pernicious Anemia- but that can really be avoided with the Folic Acid. You should be on 1mg a day.

I know you said you take the Mucinex daily-- make sure you get the Sinus Rinse and flush whatever gunk is laying in your sinuses out. You may also want to see an ENT and get them to do a culture so that if you have any staph- that the antibiotics they are putting you on actually knock out the infection. So many times our MD's just give us a "cover-all the bases" antibiotic and we've become resistant to them-- so we need something different.

If you use a cpap, make sure you wash your mask daily-- at least the latex part, and replace the tubing once a month. The humidifiers on our cpap machines also need to be washed with dish soap (try to find ones that don't have much in the way of scent) and use hot water at high pressure to rinse them.

I also use only distilled water in the cpap humidifier, so that i don't get anything growing in the canister.

CBC is a complete blood count. LFT is LIVER FUNCTION TEST. ACE IS ANGIOTENSIN CONVERTING ENZYME--

With the cytoxan, they should be checking you before each infusion, so that you don't have the anemia.

Ask them if they can prescribe Folic Acid-- he probably figured someone is writing that script for you.

ACE will check for systemic non-specific inflammation, and would be skewed because of the cytoxan-- so they may pass on that one.

I am having monthly blood work for anemia and liver function. So far so

good. I even have been working hard to get my cholesterol down and it

is working. I haven't done any sinus flushing but it sounds like I need

to. I am going to go see my PCP in sick call on Monday because I feel

like I might be getting an infection. I don't have any apnea so I don't

have a CPAP; I just need to get my deviated septum fixed and maybe I

wouldn't snore so much.

Thanks for the advice and I appreciate everything you do.

Terri G.

PS. BTW, I will try the b12.
