Rose I do the same thing with the socks. I have molded braces for both my hands but I use a really good one I got OTC and it is good enough...but it hurt like a lot if I move it the wrong way. I told my dr I was going to put all the braces etc on I have and go to holloween as the tin man or enstien! The surgery is Tuesday at or about 8:30-9:00 and it is here in ville at the Surgicare...same day surgery. I am still working on what pain meds to use... last time the perecet left me out on the floor for several hours... I want pain relief but I'd like to live through it. Any suggestions?TTFNRuth>> > Ruth, is this surgery because of arthritis? Did the previous surgery help? I've been wearing a thumb splint for a couple of years, which helps some. I saw a hand surgeon last year, who mentioned surgery, but I was thinking about back surgery at that time, so told him no thanks. According to the xrays he did, my thumb joint is "bone on bone." I've had one attempt at a steroid injection, but the space was too tight to get the needle in. It's getting harder to open jars, even with special tools & grippers, cut my nails, etc.> > Ramblin' Rose> Moderator> A merry heart is good medicine. I've been trying to get caught up on stuff. I am having surgery next Tuesday the 18th to reconstruct my left thumb joint. I had the right done 4 years ago so I am really not looking forward to it. Also saw a ortho that is the best "knee" guy in Eville and he say he really tries hard not to touch a knee of someone with Sarc so I am wearing a huge brace on my left knee. As crazy as it looks it is helping. I am sure being layed up for a week or so will also help it to. My granddaughter is coming to stay with me for a week or so to help. I am sure it won't be as bad as I am anticipating...well, at least I hope it isn't It may be a couple of weeks before I am back up and running on the computer but I'll be back soon.Take careHUGSRuth > > > > > > > _________________________________________________________________> Kick back and relax with hot games and cool activities at the Messenger Café.> http://www.cafemessenger.com?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_SeptWLtagline> > > > > > > > _________________________________________________________________> More photos; more messages; more whatever – Get MORE with Windows Live™ Hotmail®.
