Guest guest
Theresa: I am supposed to have surgery with Dr. Pomp, initially on 9/5, now on 10/3. This has me greatly distressed as I had other things planned for Oct. besides surgery. If Dr. Gagner was not able to see you 8/8, why weren't you offered an appt. with Inabnet, Herron or Pomp? In a group practice, this is usually the way things are done. I tried to keep my original surgery date by asking to change surgeons, and was told " There are no appointments available until late Oct. or early Nov. No exceptions! " I have been an RN for 27 years, and this is the only time I have heard of such nonsense being tolerated in a major teaching hospital! Was 9/5, now 10/3 and not happy about the change. > > > : I have no idea what's going on... but if you have Dr. Gagner, there > are many, many weird changes going on. Guest guest
I had my surgery date changed a few weeks before the date. I was very upset, I think I even cried to Ivonne at Gagner's office when she told me the news. My date was pushed back 3 weeks. It totally screwed everything up at the time because my dad travels a lot on business and had cancelled a speaking engagement in Germany for my initial date. So he then had to totally rearrange everything. My boyfriend too had cleared up that week. AND, I had hired a temp at work for 2 weeks and then had to deal with re-arranging that. It sucked to say the least. Dealing with Gagners office is not fun but he is an excellent surgeon. I knew of peoples complaints ahead of time, but went with him anyways because of his excellent repuation. I would use him again in a second. Hang in there. You will soon be post-op and losing weight and getting healthy. Jill K in NY 4/5/01 Gagner -

No one offered for me to see another surgeon but the thought seriously crossed my mind. I had to delay my three month visit because of 'vacations' and unavailability. That's why I scheduled this six month well ahead of time. I figure since I haven't been experiencing any problems, I'm going to try to get a hold of the RN Ivonne (no easy task, mind you - I already called to see if the lab results were in and her assistant told me she would get back with me in a day - that was LAST WEEK. Sigh) and see if I can get a reading of my lab results. As long as I get a hold of those, etc. I can wait until Sept. 11. Alternatively, if the labs are off, etc. I will schedule to see Dr. Herron or an associate. all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25,2 001 six months postop and still feelin' fabu! pre-op: 307 lbs/bmi 45 (5' 9 1/2 " ) now: 228 lbs
