Theresa:

I am supposed to have surgery with Dr. Pomp, initially on 9/5, now on

10/3. This has me greatly distressed as I had other things planned for

Oct. besides surgery. If Dr. Gagner was not able to see you 8/8, why

weren't you offered an appt. with Inabnet, Herron or Pomp? In a group

practice, this is usually the way things are done. I tried to keep my

original surgery date by asking to change surgeons, and was told

" There are no appointments available until late Oct. or early Nov. No

exceptions! " I have been an RN for 27 years, and this is the only time

I have heard of such nonsense being tolerated in a major teaching

hospital!

Was 9/5, now 10/3 and not happy about the change.

Hmmm... my surgery with Dr. Inabnet has been moved up twice, so I'd

think they do have openings come up. Probably on cancellations. If

you could go in on a week or two's notice you might be able to make a

deal with a cancellation date. Of course all your paperwork and pre-op

tests need to be done. They gave me a week and a half notice so that I

could get the labs, Chest X-Ray, EKG and physical done that can only

be done within a month of surgery. They said they could accept them as

soon as a week before surgery. Please do not use my name if you call

them on it and use this info, I don't want to jeopardize my

relationship with them.

I have my first apt. with Dr. Gagner on 9/5. I have heard nothing about an

increase in the consultation and I am getting really upset with all the bad

things people are experiencing with Dr. Gagner and his staff.

I really don't want to have all the added problems with office staff and a

doctor who switches apts, lost or delayed tests results etc.

I have worked in a medical office for 17 years and there is no excuse for all

I am reading. Hire more people! He is making enough money!!

Any other feelings about a really good doctor in Manhattan or Queens or Long

Island? I am beginning to have second thoughts about starting with Gagner.
