Hi everyone,

I have a question. I was wondering if we have to eat so much protien,

how does it affect the cholesterol levels? Does it go up in time

because of you are supposed to eat more meats? I am concerned about

this because I don't like beans, eggs, or cottage cheese much. I do

love cheese though. And yogert is ok. Just wondering and I am so

appriciate of this group. I read everything that is posted. :)) I am

learning so much from this group. By the way, I have another question

for you guys, its a bit embarassing, but here goes. I weigh too much

for my 300lb scales, (I am, I think, 365ish) and someone told me that

if you stand on two scales evenly, you can tell your weight by adding

the two up. I was at Wal-Mart the other day, and I kept trying to

stand on two scales and see, but people kept coming, and I was too

embarrassed to be seen doing this...lol. Well, that is all for now.

Thanks so much for your answeres and this whole group. You guys are

awesome. Oh, and by the way, 'Joe, I will be praying for you too, I

strongly believe in the power of prayer!'

Tami,

Malabsorption is the key to the long-term effectiveness of this

surgery. This especially applies to fat. Because fat is not

absorbed as well, your cholesterol level should actually go down. My

friend just had her cholesterol level checked at her 9-month post-op

appointment with her PCP and it had dropped to 170 from somewhere

well above 250.

Freedom! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout. This is the miraculous, one-

stop surgery shop!

My numbers dropped from 220 or 230 to 170 (I think). I don't have my

labs near by but I do know they dropped quite a bit since my surgery.
