Guest guest
Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help me out with a different place to find a FAB in the Seattle area besides Children's Hospital? I'm so tired of fighting with Children's and United Healthcare on the coverage of the FAB. Children's bills it incorrectly, and the rates they have negotiated with United are ridiculous! Last year at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, the total charge was $112 for shoes and bar, of which I paid 20% of that after my deductible. Children's in Seattle charged $276, with no reduced, negotiated rate! I can't believe the difference just in base price. If anyone has a suggestion, I would appreciate it. Thanks for your help! Thanks, Addison - 7/3/04 BCF nap/night 14/

Guest guest
They wanted to charge Darby something like $800 for the PM brace there too. They're a bunch of crooks. Just look in the phonebook and find an orthotics shop and have the doc give you an actual prescription. Someone out there in Seattle can get it, they may have to order it though. Guest guest
- All the information that you'll need to order the components and have the brace set up is in the files section under the bracing folder. It has the component numbers and manufacturer's names- so you can just get a prescription from the doctor and print off the papers out of the files section and then any orthotist can get it for you. Just have the doc check to make sure they set it up right with the bends in the bar and the outward rotation of the shoes (or send us pictures of it via the yahoo cfpics group) and we can critique it for you! Good luck! > >Hello, > > > >I was wondering if anyone can help me out with a different place to > >find a FAB in the Seattle area besides Children's Hospital? Guest guest
, Olivia never really used hers - her feet wouldn't stay in. I might have the right size that you need just sitting at home that I would be happy to give you. What size do you need? I'll go home and see what I have tonight. He may need a bigger size than I have. As far as going forward, I have no idea. I know Swedish hospital has a pretty popular orthopedic department. I wonder what orthotist they use? I gave up on Children's - I'm jsut ordering my FAB myself and I finally won the battle with my insurance (Aetna) to pay. Guest guest
Also, I forgot to mention - I don't know if you'd qualify or not, but Children's does have a great financial aid program - it wouldn't cover my mitchell brace, but it covered the normal FAB 100%. Its very easy to apply - not even much paperwork, just a quick form.
