Kristie McComb Project Manager, Farmworker Health Services Farmworker Health Services, Inc. is accepting submissions for the 2008 edition of the Innovative Outreach Practices Report. The Innovative Outreach Practices Report is distributed nationally to a variety of health organizations that serve farmworkers. The purpose of the report is to outline successful outreach practices that can be implemented or adapted by other programs. All Migrant/Community Health Centers and Migrant Voucher Programs that submit an innovative outreach practice will also be considered for the Sister Cecilia B. Abhold Award for demonstrating innovation while serving migrant and seasonal farmworkers. The recipient of the Sister Cecilia B. Abhold Award receives: o $200 to be used for health education materials of their choice to further their outstanding efforts serving migrant and seasonal farmworkers. o An award plaque to be displayed in their organization. o Exposure among peers at their respective Stream Forums. Highlights about their innovative outreach practice will be shared with the audience during the award presentation. o A letter of recognition from FHSI describing the highlights of the organization's exemplary outreach efforts and persistent commitment to migrant and seasonal farmworkers. o A feature in FHSI's annual publication, the Innovative Outreach Practices Report, and recognition within FHSI's OutReach newsletter and website, www.farmworkerhealth.org. Applications will be accepted until Friday, September 7, 2007. The submission form will be uploaded to the list serv's electronic files today or you can also apply online at http://www.farmworkerhealth.org/nominate.html.
