Guest guest
> Do any of you notice that cold affects you more now than it did pre opt? I had my surgery in Feb, and even though I live in So Calif, I felt like it was 20 below, and that I would freeze to death! I mean really cold to the bone, from head to feet. I'd sit with multiple layers (2 pairs wool socks,) wrapped up in blankets, as close to the fireplace as I could get without setting myself on fire! I finally sent DH out to get a twin size electric blanket, that I dragged around like some kind of demented childhood " binkie " , cords dragging everywhere. Between that, the occasional bouts of diahrrea, and the babylike food - well, it was not a pretty sight. But - the better my eating got, and as my capacity for more fluids and better protein increased, the coldness went away. It seems to me that it lasted about a month, maybe 6 weeks or so. I finally stopped sleeping plugged in sometime in April. I had noticed this in the past when dieting, also, so IMHO it seem related to lack of protein and/or fluids. Now the " binkie " is stuffed in a drawer, neglected and forgotten, but still loved! Ellen DS 2/14/01 310 Dr. Anthone 7/30/01 236 - 74 lbs. Guest guest
I'm two months post-op, live in Florida. I've been routinely wearing flannel to bed, long sleeves during the day, and it feels really, really good outside! (Don't even sweat anymore!) Guest guest
The temp has been in the high 60s and low 70s. We had some warm (80s) weather last month, but now it is over 70 usually only briefly in the afternoons. I miss my Oregon home but know I'd suffer there where the tem in at least 90 most of the summer. , warm in cool Seattle > ....what is the temp in Seattle? Guest guest
I was totally convinced that I would be one of the rare DS failures. But no.. I'm definately in the ranks of the blessed. So I have been interviewing potential worry options. Who wants to be completely our of them? I've been thinking maybe I will worry about getting to goal weight. Then I can imitate our fearless leader Mc and worry about whether or not I can keep it off. All those seem so much more upscale from my present worry that my ValueVillage purchases won't fit in my closet. LOL You losing 100 lbs in the next 8 mos seems possible to me. Are you feeling well? Back to work? in Seattle > > I expect to celebrate my birthday this month somewhere in the > 190s. > > That will be my present to myself. In truth we are all blessed: we could have had to worry that there was no place to sleep with a roof over our heads; that we did not know where to find the next meal (well, maybe some of still do ;-) ); that our shoes were so worn that we could not protect our feet; that our kids were being bitten by rats at night; . . .
