yes, after only 50 lb. Imagine what it will be like after

180 lb! But, not only cold...even padded seats now get to my

tush-bone as the padding has diminished.

It is 60 here today, raining and Im freezing

cold! Maybe I should consider moving to Arizona?

I had my surgery in Feb, and even though I live in So Calif, I felt

like it was 20 below, and that I would freeze to death! I mean really

cold to the bone, from head to feet. I'd sit with multiple layers (2

pairs wool socks,) wrapped up in blankets, as close to the fireplace

as I could get without setting myself on fire!

I finally sent DH out to get a twin size electric blanket, that I

dragged around like some kind of demented childhood " binkie " , cords

dragging everywhere. Between that, the occasional bouts of diahrrea,

and the babylike food - well, it was not a pretty sight.

But - the better my eating got, and as my capacity for more fluids

and better protein increased, the coldness went away. It seems to me

that it lasted about a month, maybe 6 weeks or so. I finally stopped

sleeping plugged in sometime in April.

I had noticed this in the past when dieting, also, so IMHO it seem

related to lack of protein and/or fluids.

Now the " binkie " is stuffed in a drawer, neglected and forgotten, but

still loved!

ROFL Ellen! That is sooooo funny! Thank you for sharing that!!

Im 8 months out now and just getting a feel for how it is when cooler

weather sets in.....I live in the mountains and we get snow in the winter

time......I shudder to think I would be dragging an electric blanket around

with me plugged into extension cords!

I'm two months post-op, live in Florida. I've been routinely wearing

flannel to bed, long sleeves during the day, and it feels really,

really good outside! (Don't even sweat anymore!)

I am soooo warm and have never felt cold post op. I keep hearing

this " just wait you will " stuff. Meanwhile I am peeling all it is

legal to remove.

I expect to celebrate my birthday this month somewhere in the 190s.

That will be my present to myself.

Amazing surgery! Feel great, boundless energy, eat well, stay warm.

Who could ask for anything more? <hum that tune>

The temp has been in the high 60s and low 70s. We had some warm (80s)

weather last month, but now it is over 70 usually only briefly in the

afternoons.

I miss my Oregon home but know I'd suffer there where the tem in at

least 90 most of the summer.

I was totally convinced that I would be one of the rare DS failures.

But no.. I'm definately in the ranks of the blessed. So I have been

interviewing potential worry options. Who wants to be completely our

of them? I've been thinking maybe I will worry about getting to goal

weight. Then I can imitate our fearless leader Mc and worry

about whether or not I can keep it off.

All those seem so much more upscale from my present worry that my

ValueVillage purchases won't fit in my closet. LOL

You losing 100 lbs in the next 8 mos seems possible to me. Are you

feeling well? Back to work?

In truth we are all blessed: we could have had to worry that there

was no place to sleep with a roof over our heads; that we did not

know where to find the next meal (well, maybe some of still do ;-) );

that our shoes were so worn that we could not protect our feet; that

our kids were being bitten by rats at night; . . .
