Guest guest
Well, my first tattoo was completed about a month ago; it took 4 sittings over three months (total of 8 hours). It's based on the stained glass AIDS memorial windows at my church. It's on my right bicep (see photos section). It's got a central hand--the hand of healing transformation. The hand is surrounded by a note (mind full of joy) and heart (body filled with love) and a dove (spirit filled with peace). Mind-body- spirit connection. Transformation. Joy, love and peace. I think these symbols speak volumes to all of us here. The lower part of the tattoo is a key with a keyhole symbolizing liberation. And I had my tattoo artist use the gay pride rainbow colors in the key. At last, I'm finally free of morbid obesity, free to be entirely me. Today, my tattoo artist and I finalized the plans for my second tattoo, again based on the stained glass windows of my church. My first sitting for the tattoo—to go on my left bicep—will be Monday, Dec 12th. It will be a diamond-shaped frame with swirling colors from white/blue/gray to multicolor green to golden orange to dark orange/brown back to white/blue/gray. There will be a central purple candle, the candle of hope with the flame of faith. In the interior background will be the smoke of the candle swirling in the wind. The tattoo means to me that despite the swirling of life all around me and the passing of time and the seasons, I will maintain hope and faith. The tattoo also contains representations (colors or graphics) of the four elements—water, earth, fire and wind. It will remind me that these are gifts freely given by the Universe, and that I am connected to a world bigger than myself. This will be my last tattoo. I was warned that it becomes addictive, but yikes! I always wanted one tattoo. Never thought I'd have two. Francisco

Guest guest
Francisco I took a look at your tatoo and it's beautiful, and I love the color. I agree one more would be fine, but if you get addicted and put to many it's hard to see the meaning in each one. I hope you enjoy each of them in a special way. Take care. Guest guest
Donna: Yes, two is enough. My Mom's gonna freak out; she worries like all Moms do for their babies (I'm the baby of the family). I'm not going to tell her about this one, but she's so psychic with me, she'll find out soon enough. It's a good thing that the tattoo artist uses sterilized equipment, and it's a clean, professional atmosphere. Guys tend to find tattoos sexy, but heck, having two reconstructive surgeries was more painful, and why isn't that considered sexy? Guest guest
Francisco Reconstructive surgery helps make the person more sexy, or you have to keep the saggy skin. I just think all people don't understand, if they see you in clothes and you look sexy they don't understand the need for reconstructive surgery which causes pain and leaves scares. Then for WLS people it makes them feel even better about the surgery they had, which is a hard thing for many to understand in the first place. We need to feel beautiful and good about our self. There is nothing wrong with this, but not every in our lives will understand this and we have to except this. LOL Donnamanisodream wrote: Donna:Yes, two is enough.
