Guest guest
Carol, I am just 6 weeks post-op, but one big appeal to the DS was just how well the post-ops eat after the period of adjustment. I'm hoping Kris S. will see this and respond with how well she eats. I want to be her when I grow up!! Anyway, the DS provides superior quality of life, and much more normalcy than any other WLS, IMHO. I want to eat like my friends that eat and aren't heavy. Good nutrition with the added ability to eat something if I like it or crave it. Congrats on your loss! I am going to go weigh myself today at the hospital...I'm dying to know if I've lost anything...which is funny since all my clothes I took to Spain are falling off me...LOL ~~* AJ *~~ BMI 64 Post op 7/24/01 self pay - Dr Baltasar -Alcoy Spain Check out the Bellingham Support for WLS WWW.lookin2bthin.homestead.com

Good luck, > Meli > June 21,01 > Dr Hess > -37lb Eat... what am I gonna eat? Gosh, I love to eat. I'm hungry. Lemme see... I want something good to eat. Mmmmm,...time to eat!!! Yes, I eat. I eat whatever I want and the quality is not always so good, but usually high in protein. I love fatty foods too. What is a carb and why do I want to count it? Sugar... well, I love my sweets and I do eat them, but hey... they arent my mainstay. Every morning, I get up and cook. I eat 6-8 slices of bacon, 2-3 fried eggs, a slice of cheese and a buttered bagel or toast. This is without fail. A while after breakfast, I'll usually eat a poptart and some chips a little later on. Meanwhile, I usually have lunch cooking in the oven or if I am lazy, I will nuke something or make a sandwich with 3 slices of lunchmeat, a couple of pieces of cheese and lots of REAL mayo. If I am out, hey... there are oodles of bacon double cheeseburgers out there screaming my name. After lunch, there is popcorn and chips and candy bars that can ease my hunger. For dinner... you name it and I'll eat it. Generally, 5-6 oz of meat, steak, pork chops, fish, chicken, brisket, burgers,...whatever (sometimes pizza or baby back ribs), pasta or potatoes, corn, mixed veggies, salads with real dressing and bacon bits... whew.... I love to eat!!! Point is, I am over 2 years out, and I have arrived. I eat guilt free, no matter what my food choices are. My weight is stable. Granted, I am no size 6, nor will I ever be. I knew this before. I am a big girl...always have been. I have an extra large frame and being thin does not equate with my body. I am thick. I weigh 161 lbs (this morning) and wear a size 14 and I am 5'7. Am I complaining? No way! I am where I need to be. Keep in mind that you need to eat in order to lose...you need to eat to keep from getting sick to your stomach. EAT! Eat guilt free!! Here is a wayyyy cool link to look up the protein content of fast foods. There is a lot of fat there as well, but for me, I say so what?... who cares about fat?.... I dont! Eat and be well! www.kenkuhl.com/fastfood Email me if you have any questions. Love, Kris

Guest guest
Hey Kris! We eat the same way you do and continue to lose! I once told my husband that " fast foods " are good for us DSers but bad for the general public!! We were able to break a plateau by eating 2-3 donuts! Hugs, Judie
