Hi,

I'm no scientist, but it seems like the water in these tests would flow into

areas not formerly occupied by the cottage cheese or oatmeal. I wonder if

just weighing the cottage cheese or oatmeal, then eating your fill, then

weighing the cheese or oatmeal again would bring about the same amount of

ounces as the water?

Has anyone done the cottage cheese test?

I didnt have any cottage cheese so used oatmeal this morning.....I was able

to eat 9 ounces of it! Is that a bit much, does anyone know? Im 8 1/2

how

> your arrived at your conclusion on 9 ounces.>>>>>..

I weighed it and then used a measuring cup with 16 ounces on it...althought

I would think the oatmeal would weigh more than liquid?

Double checked it and it was 9 ounces.....

I can eat an 8 oz steak and a few bites of potato and veggie at dinner....so

that sounds about right!

thanks Anita....I cant help but wonder if 9 ounces is a bit much? On the

other hand Dr Welker said my tummy at surgery time was approx 5 ounces and

would double by one year......so Im getting close to 10 ounces now...

there is always that fear that maybe after they have stretched it might be a

bit much. I guess I would have to make my goal in order to know it aint so!

The first and third times I got a stomach capacity of 10 oz, and the

the test at 4-1/2 months post-op. It is still 10 oz now. I think

that is too big for this soon post-op. Dr. Welker is considering

making it smaller when I have my revision. I hope he is able to-- I

miss the quality of satiety I had as a fairly new post-op.

To clarify, you are talking about fluid ounces not weight, correct!
