Guest guest
Late response! Yes, I used the cream with my 2 year old. It was a lifesaver, however when I attempted to use it again in a hospital setting a supervising attending doc said it has been known to cause seizures in a very small percentage of users. My daughter, as other mito babies, is vulnerable to seizures due to specific cell damage in her brain, so… something to think about. I don’t use it anymore. Good luck, will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Abigail has optic atrophy, heart murmur and dialated valve that they are keeping and eye on to see if it continues to dialate. After a basic blood test with the genetic doctor he had Abigail go for a metabolic screening. There may be " Significant " findings and we must go for an additional blood test tommorow morning. Her lactate and pyrvate were elevated in the metabolic screening. They are seeking a mito disorder. My heart goes out to all and their babies. It is so hard on the children having test after test. Is there any other parents whose children have optic atrophy? I am worried, nervous and out of my mind. I am sitting here with plastic wrap on my arm covering the lidocine/prilocai... seeing how it makes my arm feel because I plan on using it on Abigail tommorow to numb the arm before the blood test. I have to test it first because she is so sensative and I don't want her having a major breakdown because she doesn't like the way it makes her arm feel, its going to be a hard enough day. Has anybody ever used this cream? Kerry Dougherty - Mother to Abigail (optic atrophy possible mito) and Bridget Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions. Guest guest
Suzanne, Thank you for your response. I did not use the cream. I am partly scared to use it and felt it may upset her in addition to the blood test. Her anxiety is worse than the needle. She began screaming the minute we entered the room and didn't stop until we exited. She had to fast for the test which makes her out of sorts to begin with. Abigail is a strong willed child and always has great statements when at a doctor, this past test included "I'M NOT BRAVE YET" and "I DON'T LIKE ANY OF YOU" to all the people in the lab. I am hoping to get test results on December 21, 2004. Thank you for your response. Kerry mother to Abigail (optic atrophy, possible mito) and Bridget.Embroidery Journal wrote: Late response!
