Guest guest
GlacierHey girl, how is it going with your baby right now? I didn't see your original post but if I can just chime in quickly here, please don't put your kid through an operation if there is an alternative (there is!). I've gone both routes with my 2 cf kids here. The FAB/DBB is a cake walk compared to the risks involved in the other method. Notice yoru doc recommends the opertion - um, ask him how many cf children he has at home. Seriously. What the heck does he know about it?????? I have two club footed children myself, and no telling how many other kids on this group - and we're an army fighting against stupid operations. We have witnessed FIRST HAND both methods - and notice we don't fight for operations, we fight for non-operations based on PERSONAL experience, not doctor's opinions of what he " would do " . He doesn't have a crippled kid, who the hell is he to say what he would do? He doesn't know jack. Or club foot. My youngest will celebrate his 2nd FAB anniversary in a couple months - it ain't no thing! My biggest regret is that my 1st son never had the chance to use the FAB - he went the surgery crap route. Sorry, this is a sore subject. The inital 23 hour period is over in 3 months and that is the worst of it, a crappy 90 days, ya know? AFter that the FAB is practiacally a part of their nightly pajamas. What's a little time in a brace compared to the risk involved and potential life long consequences of operations? Why would anyone opt to put their kid under the gas and cut open and exposed to infections and pains when they had a choice??????????? It makes no sense to me and I';m sort of with out mercy on this topic. I have the results of the wrong treatment living in my house staring me in the face every day. I also have the results of the RIGHT treatment living in my house, side by side next to his brother, it's black and white. Take it from those of us who've actually been there, not a doc who hasn't. Please keep doing your home work. Please come to YOUR OWN conclusions, not those of this particular doctor. With Love and Best Wishes, Sincerely, ee
