Guest guest
Of course I can't remember if I put input on this subject or not, my memory is awful. But anyway , we have our own well and were running out of water all the time. Five people in the family and doing 1 or 2 loads of laundry a day. We had to space out our showers and loads of laundry . (we live in an old house built in the late 1800's and have a shallow well.) Anyway we had our well defracted (kind of like redug) and put a new pump in. Still not solving the problem. (We don't drink the water , use bottled water & only use if for showers & laundry) We then had our water tested and found out we had magnesium and iron in our water. We wanted to get a filtration system but it was quoted around $2000 dollars - ouch, too much money for us! We then decided to put a cheaper filter on our faucet and our water intake (aroung $100) ( on something in the basement, my husband knows where , not me!) That was a week ago, we are waiting for the results. I still don't want to drink it yet. I know we don't have the slight odor anymore and it isn't staining the bathtub (a little orange like it was), it was also turning my hair into a red head, I usually have it colored blond. After this long post, hopefully it is going to help. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in on this subject. Debbie T. Co - Moderator mosaicgirl1 wrote: Rose,It was not a Brita but it was a name brand.
