Hello everyone,

I'm new to the program and to this site. I've been reading some

messages and see how supportive everyone is to each other. So i'm

hoping I will learn a lot from everyone. If anyone can offer any

suggestions, personal stories or pearls of wisdom for pre op's and or

post op life I would really appreciate.

Thanks,

sassy

Sassy:

Welcome to our little family here.

There are so many wise folks here. And we welcome newbies with open

arms.

Do you have any specific questions? Ask us, and we'll come up with an

answer or suggestion.

One thing I can suggest today is that you start looking at how you talk

to yourself. Become aware of what your inner tapes are saying. If

you're saying negative things to yourself, start today by ACTIVELY

turning it around. Start saying good things to yourself.

You may not believe all the good stuff at first, but practice will make

you believe. This is one thing I really had to work on.

Now I know I deserve to be loved by me. And that's a huge step in our

recovery from morbid obesity.

Let us know how you're doing.

Sassy Welcome to the group ! The things that helped me pre-op were to eat a lot of protein, and to stay focused on loosing the ten percent prior to surgery and to not beat myself up if i messed up along the way but to not fall backwards and just move forward. Post op was easier................the time has just flown by , right after surgery i had to focus on walking and sipping my water. Today my only snafu is my lack of getting myself to exercise, its important...........but then none of us our perfect but it is something that i need to get a grasp on. good luck Colleensassyandwicked wrote: Hello everyone,I'm new to the program and to this site. Sassy, welcome to the group. Please feel free to ask

any questions and I am sure someone, if not everyone

will have an answer for you. Continue to seek

knowledge about the procedure, process and what I like

to refer to as the afterlife. More importantly,

believe that you can do this thing even when it feels

like you can't. We are here to support you every step

of the way as your big day approaches and afterwards.

Again, WELCOME.

Thank you for those wonderful words. Talking to myself in a positive way is something that I have not done but I must begin to do. As for questions, how to prepare yourself for surgery? and how best to prepare yourself for post op life mentally? Are there things I could start practicing now? Thanks, sassymanisodream wrote: Sassy:Welcome to our little family here. There are so many wise folks here. And we welcome newbies with open arms.Do you have any specific questions? Thanks Colleen, I'll keep focused on the protein and exercise so I can make sure I lose the 10 percent. I find the hardest thing so far is trying to get all the water in but I'll keep trying. Thank you Pam, You have definitely made me feel welcome. It's good to know that there is a caring and positive group like this to provide people with the support and answers they need.
