hi amy wow how great to have Shell for a friend, i am sure you has given you lots of info. I never feel like i do not get enough food. The weight has come off and yes sorry to say i have saggy wiggly skin in some areas, maybe one day i will take measures to remove it but its doable, i do have some back aches i didnt before whether that is from my skin i dont know............it takes a lot of thinking to take the steps to surgery. I know it is frustrating to have to qualify with certain disorders..................I hope the best for you in whatever the best thing for you turns out to be............................ good luck Colleendaydream_believer_bbw wrote: Hello Everyone....I've been talking to Shell( who just happens to be a good

friend of mine) about the surgery from time to time and and dealing with all the pros and cons. It wasn't until a few months ago that I really considered doing the gastic bypass. I've been told by my doctor and nutritionist my BMI is boarder line and I'm healthy with no "other" medical conditions.I've done all the test, and blood work. I am taking a sleep apnea test in Feb as a last test to see if they can find anything wrong with me... funny how you need to qualify by being over weight, and or something else medically wrong with you. But I'm still obease. It frustrates me because all my life I've struggled through this as everyone has in here.. and here is a big chance to get control of it and I still may not be able to. My nutritionist says she doesn't really think I'll qualify, as I have never had problems sleeping before. she told me if I want to garentee(sp?( sorry really bad speller here)

it I can gain a few more pounds. I told her that was crazy since the goal is to lose weight, and she agreeed. I'm still going to go through all the steps and make my decision at the very end. I've been going through the pro's and con's from the research I've done, been told from others who've had it and from my own doctors. My main concerns are.. the pain afterwords, the food intake that I can and can not have, hairloss and the extra skin after the wieght loss. I just watched Oprah who had a woman on there and the pain she was having from the extra skin. It's not covered in my insurance to have it removed.I've made an appointment with my nutritionist to set up a plan for me no matter if I go through it or not. If for some reason I don't qualify then I NEED to do something NOW, and if i do, I still have to lose 10% so it doesn't hurt either way. I really go back and forth on the whole

procedure...if you can lose the 10% why not just keep going? Yes I know most of us were/are very unhealthy, miserable, unhappy, depressed ect and that's the reason why we(I am) thinking of having this procedure done. BUT are we doing it from the wrong reason. Is it a quick fix? Isi t really worth it? DO they(Kaiser) really prepare you for the post opt? I'm reading though all the thousands of post , so I'm sure most of my questions or concerns will be touched on but please feel free to respond. Back and forth, Amy
